Chargers Swept by No. 11 Warriors Despite Rademacker’s Career-High 13 Kills

GALESBURG — Sophomore Gracie Rademacker (Green Valley, Ill./Midwest Central) set a career-high in kills, but the Carl Sandburg College volleyball team was swept 25-16, 25-15, 25-17 by Indian Hills on Tuesday at John M. Lewis Gymnasium.

The Warriors (10-1), ranked No. 11 in NJCAA Division I, were the third straight ranked opponent that Sandburg (4-5) has faced in the last week.

Rademacker had 13 kills and a .478 hitting percentage on 23 attempts for a career night. She surpassed her previous career best of 10 kills, which she had reached four times, most recently Aug. 31 against Illinois Central. Rademacker also had a solo block and an ace for the Chargers.

Lauren Erke (Quincy, Ill./Quincy) and Carley Reeves-Eakins (Branson, Mo./Reeds Spring) each added seven kills for Sandburg. Carmyn Baldwin (Lewistown, Ill./Lewistown) had 25 assists, and libero Mackenzie Springsteen (Sperry, Iowa/Mediapolis) picked up eight digs for the Chargers.
